Corey McClendon, an associate of Yo Gotti, has been arrested in the shooting of Young Dolph. The 43-year-old was charged with suspicion of attempted murder.

It was originally believed that Gotti himself was a person of interest in the case, but police denied the reports. While Gotti was not involved in the shooting, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck thinks the shooting had something to do with a feud.

“[He was] targeted because of who he is and some kind of beef that’s ongoing,” Beck said told the press, according to Complex. “I think this was something he brought with him from across the United States.”

Following the Sept. 26 shooting, Dolph remains in critical but stable condition. According to reports, the incident began when an argument outside of the Loews Hotel in Hollywood turned physical. TMZ claims that someone pulled out a gun and shot Dolph, hitting him several times in the torso.

“The two camps had an argument, which escalated to a physical fight,” said LAPD Officer Meghan Aguilar. “At one point, Young Dolph was knocked to the ground. And then one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at him.”

Police are still looking for two suspects involved in the shooting.
