The Trump administration has sparked a good deal of drama so far, but now this soap opera has just ramped up to Days of Our Lives proportions. Donald Trump’s former communications director Jason Miller confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday that he is the father of a child, William, born on July 10. The mother is former Trump aide A.J. Delgado, with whom Miller—who remains married to another woman—began an affair during the Trump campaign.
On Tuesday, Delgado tweeted about the birth of her son:
Delgado and Miller, however, have conflicting stories about how the son has been welcomed into the world. Miller told Page Six in a statement that he and his wife, who gave birth to a baby girl in January, have happily accepted William into their lives.
“My wife and I, along with our two daughters, are excited to welcome William into the world and into our family, and we appreciate the well-wishes we’ve received from so many,” he said.
After seeing that Miller went to Page Six with the story, Delgado tweeted that, essentially, the opposite is true.
When Delgado announced Will’s birth, she also announced that “the father,” whom she did not name, had not sent a gift, monetary or otherwise, and that she was solely supporting the child.
In December 2016, Page Six alleged that Delgado and Miller had had an affair while in Las Vegas for Trump’s final campaign debate with Hillary Clinton. Delgado fought back in a series of tweets, saying that she and Miller dated for two months while he and his wife were said to be on a break. (She and Miller were, however, spotted in a Vegas strip club at the time, which created a tabloid kerfuffle of its own.)
After Trump named Miller White House communications director on December 22, Delgado tweeted a couple of cryptic messages, now deleted. The three tweets, of which Page Six has a screen shot read: “So an announcement forthcoming concerning the new Comms director @JasonMillerinDC tonight. The 2016 version of John Edwards. And me.”
Miller resigned as White House communications director on Christmas Eve, two days after being appointed; the position went to Sean Spicer, and then Michael Dubke, and eventually Anthony Scaramucci, who has his own sordid plot in this ongoing soap opera.
Delgado, perhaps taking a cue from the former boss she helped elect as president, appears to be an open book on Twitter, even adding that Sean Hannity gifted the infant a Tiffany’s box of baby gifts.
