Michael Returns On Spooky Fan-Made Poster For Halloween Reboot

In just over a year’s time, we’ll be settling in to watch the blank-faced Michael square off against Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode for the final time. When the film releases, it’ll be the fortieth anniversary of John Carpenter’s iconic Halloween, which redefined the horror genre and set out the tone and rhythm that we still see in movies to this day.

Bringing the project to fruition are Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, two men who you wouldn’t expect to dip their toes into horror, but that’s what makes this whole thing all the more exciting. From what we understand, the film will be a sequel to Halloween II, disregarding Halloweens 3-8 and Rob Zombie’s mid-2000s reboot. This indicates that they’re eager to shed some of the baggage that’s built up around Laurie and Michael’s various encounters over the course of the franchise, which ends with Laurie gruesomely destroying the iconic killer (you’d think he’d have learned his lesson by now).

While it’s still early days – Halloween won’t land in theatres until next October – buzz is beginning to swirl and after seeing an early teaser poster over the summer, we’re now left waiting for more. Thankfully, then, some eager fans are delivering just that.

Artist NetoRibeiro89 has drawn up a spooky and eerie one-sheet for the upcoming reboot, featuring the iconic Michael Myers front and centre. We’ve included it in the gallery below, along with a few other fan-made efforts that have surfaced recently, and we must say, it’s certainly a chilling piece of work. It may not be an official release, but it’s more than enough to whet our appetite.

Halloween is set to slash its way into theatres on October 19th, 2018 – a release date that producer Jason Blum swears by. Not only that, but we have reason to believe that this reboot will fare much better than the last one, as John Carpenter is heavily involved, and may even score the film, and it’ll also see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie. That’s not exactly a guarantee of quality, of course, but it is nice to know they’re going back to the source of the scares.
