Beyoncé Finally Debuts Her Twins with Stunning New Instagram Portrait

If you thought the religious symbolism that ran through both Beyoncé Knowles’s social-media-ready pregnancy announcement and her recent Grammy performance was going to slow down once her babies arrived, think again. Looking every inch the icon, Beyoncé strikes a divine pose with new twins Sir and Rumi Carter.

In the most Beyoncé move possible, the singer dropped a photo on her Instagram feed late Thursday night wearing a similar flowing veil and standing in front of a similar wreath of flowers she used to announce her pregnancy back in February. The simple caption reads: “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today” followed by a string of emojis meant to represent the entire Carter-Knowles family: “🙏🏽❤️👨🏽👩🏽👧🏽👶🏾👶🏾.” It makes for a perfect pair with the previous photo.

Given the symmetry between the new images, it’s safe to guess that photographer Awol Erizku—the artist behind the pregnancy announcement series—shot Sir and Rumi’s Instagram debut as well.

The last photo Knowles posted on her feed was taken back in May with her older daughter, Blue Ivy, sitting astride the singer’s baby bump.

The date on this photo also confirms the rumor that Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z Carter welcomed the new additions to their family back in mid-June. We can only hope that this is the first of many twin portraits to come.
